There is a common perception in modern day society that we need to dive deeply into the core of our trauma. While in fact: doing so alone can be more harmful than helpful. Having a supportive other with us in these spaces, as well as deeply listening to our body if it wants to continue to look at these pieces of ourselves can speed up and enhance the healing process.
There is also an opposing perception in which we numb our difficult or socially rejected emotions in attempt to not feel them. While sometimes easier in the short term this can be harmful in the long term and can lead to breakdown and illness.
Marissa works with your own unique pace and encourages trust building within ones own self to help regulate the nervous system, mind and emotions.
